The college, celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2016, came into being in 1966 as the cumulative consequence of the noble initiative and painstaking efforts collectively undertaken by a host of leading citizens and the general public of greater Barpeta Road and BHowly area under the leadership of Late Sjt. S. N. Das, the founder principal of the college.

Crescent Institute of Paramedical Studies (CIPS) was established in the year 2024 with a mission to provide affordable quality paramedical education to the youth of Assam. In front of ITI College of Nagaon District, CIPS had started its journey with the vision to eradicate the problem of unemployment to some extent by providing skill-based, value-added paramedical courses to all and empowering them with greater employment opportunities.
